The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) welcomes the Chief Executive’s appointment of Dr James WONG Kong-tin as successor of Hon Tony TSE Wai-chuen to be the Chairperson of the PMSA, Dr Johnnie CHAN Chi-kau, Spencer LAW, Stephen POON Kin-leung, Ann AU Chor-kwan, Jonathan CHANG Tien-yin, WONG Hau-yan, CHO Wui-hung, Renee HO Hang-yin, Manley LAU Man-kit, Benny YEUNG Tsz-hei, YIU Kwok-wai and Jeremy YOUNG Chit-on as new Members of the PMSA, as well as the reappointment of Professor Eddie HUI Chi-man as the Vice-chairperson of the PMSA and 6 serving members including Dick KWOK Ngok-chung, Ivan TAM Kwok-wing, Annie WONG Pak-yan, CHOW Luen-kiu, Director of Housing or his/her representative and Director of Home Affairs or his/her representative. All the new appointments and reappointments will take effect on 1 December 2022, for a period of three years.
In addition, current PMSA Members including Hon CHAN Han-pan, Dr Jason CHAN Kai-yue, Hon Scott LEUNG Man-kwong, Paul NG Kwong-ming, Wendy NG Wan-yee, Stanley TAM Lanny, Justin WONG Fai-sing, Dr Mickey YAN Wai-kiu, Hon Frankie YICK Chi-ming and YIP Hing-kwok will step down on 30 November 2022.
The founding Chairperson of the PMSA Tony TSE said, “Through the driving work of our committed Members, the Home Affairs Department and the concerted efforts of all staff members of the PMSA Executive Office in the past six years, I am deeply honoured to have witnessed the implementation of the property management (PM) industry licensing regime which received positive feedback and support from the industry, marking the new way forward for the PM industry in Hong Kong and its advancement towards enhanced quality and professionalism. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the PMSA was commissioned twice by the Government to implement the Anti-epidemic Support Scheme for Property Management Sector to provide timely subsidies for frontline PM workers and recognise their contributions in anti-epidemic work, which had gained wide recognition from the industry. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who worked together with me for their support and invaluable advice which propelled the work of the PMSA forward and have achieved positive results.”
The Chief Executive Officer of the PMSA Alan SIU said, “On behalf of all staff of the PMSA Executive Office, I wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Chairman TSE and all serving Members for their dedicated services during their term which laid a solid foundation for the PMSA work and contributed greatly to the development of the PM industry. The PMSA Executive Office will work closely with Dr James WONG and the new-term PMSA to regulate through licensing, formulate Codes of Conduct and encourage continuing professional development of the industry so as to enhance the status and service standard of the PM industry in Hong Kong.”
Members of the PMSA are appointed by the Chief Executive in accordance with the Property Management Services Ordinance. Newly appointed and reappointed Members are selected from three categories including Category I Persons: Individuals who are engaged in property management services, Category II Persons: Individuals, not being Category I persons, who, because of their experience in property management, general administration or consumer affairs, appear to the Chief Executive to have knowledge of property management services and Category III Persons: Individuals, not being Category I or Category II persons, who appear to the Chief Executive to be suitable to be appointed as Members of the PMSA.
